Bipolar disorder, formerly known as manic depression, is a condition that causes exaggerated mood swings that range from emotional highs (mania) and lows (depression).

Depression

Depression is a affective disorder that causes ongoing feelings of sadness and a detachment of interests. Also known as clinical depression, it affects how a person feels, thinks and behaves and can lead to emotional and physical problems. An individual may have trouble doing daily activities.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) presents as patterns of unwanted thoughts and fears that lead to repetitive behaviors. These obsessions and compulsions disrupt activities and cause anxiety.

Oppositional Defiant Disorder

Even the well-behaved children can behavioral problems. However, if your child frequently exhibits behaviors that include, anger, irritability, arguing, or defiance toward you and other adults, he or she may have oppositional defiant disorder (ODD).

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a condition that is caused by a traumatic event. The event can be something a person witnesses or experiences personally. Symptoms may include sudden vivid memories, nightmares and severe anxiety.
