Jenae Jones, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 10 years of nursing experience in the mental health field. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Franklin College, where my interest in mental health began after taking my first psychology course. While at Franklin I also worked as a CNA which led me to pursue nursing after graduating. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana State University and my Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in psychiatric and mental health nursing, from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Throughout my nursing career, I have worked in a variety of settings including acute inpatient, residential, and the state psychiatric hospital setting. As an RN I provided care to individuals across the lifespan, from children to adults. As a PMHNP, I have primarily worked with adults and some adolescents. I have experience treating a wide range of mental health concerns, with specialized interest in depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, other mood disorders, and psychotic disorders. I also have a special interest in working with communities that have been underserved or underrepresented in mental health care, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals navigating significant life transitions.

My approach to treatment is holistic, patient-centered, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based. I believe that healing begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, unconditional positive regard, and collaboration. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where individuals feel heard, respected, and empowered in their care.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my favorite people, reading, traveling, listening to music especially live music, and exploring new hobbies.
